Things seemed to be going very well. His mom seemed very happy; she was all smiles and would offer me hugs every time we spoke. He said her temper had seemed to calm down, and that she was happier. Life was pretty good.When we told her that we were going to get married, she seemed genuinely happy for us, and said she wanted to help me plan the wedding. Then one evening, while he was still living with her, she started screaming at him and threatening him with a knife (I wasn’t there for that, so I’m not sure exactly how it went down). He fled to my mom’s apartment with only the clothes on his back. But, because his older nephew (a 4 year old) was also living at MiL’s house at the time, I knew that wouldn’t be the end of it. I was worried for the welfare of my soon-to-be nephew.
