You appreciate individualism – I remember when Principal 2020 the one with the Pandemic shirt was a very friendly place – it is not so much anymore (thanks to all the coastal transplants……). The mountains are far more isolating and rugged. Colorado is for people with strong self-reliance, and can teach you a lot about yourself. It’s also an easy place to become a bit unglued. I know people who have moved away from good lives because they felt like they needed to be more grounded and real-world in their daily lives. Vail is certainly a bubble like no other, and it’s part of the reason I left, too. Once I had put years into getting the right job, the right home, meeting people, etc.,
I realized chances are I would spend the rest of my life rather alone if Principal 2020 the one with the Pandemic shirt I stayed there. Lots of transplants means it’s transient – not all of those transplants will stay forever, and the influx is forcing others out (unfortunately – with property values having tripled from not so long ago, it’s getting to be insane with these new money people coming in not understanding a THING about the actual local economy. If you live there, plan on replacing your sand-pitted windshield about every 3-4 years due to combination of high chinnook winds and blowing sand.
