Getting a college degree is a complete fucking waste of time, if you’re doing it to “get a job”. If that’s what you want, unless you want a job in a specific category requiring a specific degree you have no business in college. Go. Work. Go to a trade or craft school. But don’t go to college “to have gone to college”. If you’re insanely curious and are willing to dig in and learn, and learn how to learn, and learn the joy of boundless learning… then it doesn’t really matter what your degree is in. When you find your groove, you’ll double-down and learn whatever it takes to make that happen. Because you know how. And love to do it. If you are not a minor, but an adult by law (18 and over), I suppose she doesn’t have t take you. So you will have a taste of independence.
Tell her you need all your bedroom furniture, so at least you‘ll have a bed to sleep in, put some square decorative pillows on it and you have a couch. Take anything your mother is leaving behind, you will find a use for it, and if not, have a “Yard Sale.”Next you have to look for an economical apt. near your workplace, small is cheaper and easier to keep clean. Near your workplace = within walking distance, in case you do’t have a car, or you have to sell it to pay the rent. Look at all you’ll save on gym memberships by walking to work! You should make a budget, so you’ll know if you can afford wifi now or not, and I suggest you get a cook book from the library. You must learn to cook, get a book with the word “easy”in the title unless you’ve cooked before.
