The Forester, WRX/STi, and Crosstrek are built on the Impreza chassis, and the Outback and Baja (now discontinued) are built on the Legacy chassis. I personally prefer the earlier Foresters for their boxier, more truck-like design, and the easy capability with WRX and STi parts (I had WRX front brakes and rear sway bar, and an STI steering rack and exhaust in my ’99 Forester L).
