But that would mean that this baby shouldn’t look like a newborn, it should look like 5 years old unless Yoda’s species live longer than 1,000 years. People are saying it’s Yoda because they don’t know what they are talking about. Yoda is already dead by this point in the Star Wars lore, same with Vader and the emperor. The empire is no more, only remnants scattered across the galaxy, which sometime after Mandalorian those remnants will regroup and establish the First Order.

Yoda died, the same as Vader and the emperor. The Mandalorian takes place after episode 6. According to The Mandalorian Chapter 1, “Baby Yoda” (who is not to be confused with Yoda) is 50 years old. This would make him an infant by the years of his species. In Star Wars, different alien species age differently. The Client wants the child in order to hand it over to Dr. Pershing. The Doctor wants the child alive but apparently a corpse will suffice.
