I am a Black American male. I have my own thoughts and opinions. I answer questions where I must sometimes interject thoughts and opinions based on my ethnicity. Some people want to use the comment section to shame me, tell me how I should have answered the question, “bully” me and try to troll me. The block feature allows me an opportunity to not permit those types of people to have access to me. I love it. In real life, people would never talk to me or treat me in this manner. And I am not going to allow people to virtually disrespect me.
Quora has a BNBR policy. I do my best to abide by it. Blocking is the best way to flush the turd down the toilet without getting my hands dirty. And I sometimes inform Quora at my discretion. As others have pointed out, Quora isn’t a forum. If you have something to say, create your own answer. Also, don’t think that your words in the comment section will cause another person to repent and follow your ideology. It doesn’t work that way. And I am happy that Quora has a blocking system in place. It keeps the riffraff and foolishness at a minimum.
